1 million views and spiked Netflix's traffic 125% Grand Theft Auto VI was a success on Netflix. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look did something no game reveal has managed before by beating every movie and show on Netflix. 1 million views in four days , finished as the platform's most-watched title of the week, and hit No.
1 in 87 of the 93 countries Netflix tracks. These are absurd numbers for a gameplay trailer filed under the English-language film list and well deserved.
Rockstar Games got their six hours of Netflix exclusivity before the footage went free on YouTube and made full use of it, outdrawing the platform's own weekend originals.

Netflix's monthly new-title additions, 2025 to 2026
Fast & Furious and Child's Play bundles, plus the GTA 6 special

Approximate new movies and shows per month, per industry trackers. The GTA 6 special was a single title added on August 27, 2026.
Let's start with what didn't happen, yet. Netflix's content pipeline hasn't suddenly swelled because of the sudden interest in Grand Theft Auto . The service added well over 100 new titles in August and again in September, but that is seasonal business as usual, driven by big licensed-movie bundles and a planned fall slate.
Line up the monthly numbers and the GTA reveal barely registers by volume.
As a slice of the month, the Extended Look is one title, under 1% of what Netflix added. The vast majority of August and September's new additions trace to the Fast & Furious bundle, the Child's Play films, and fall originals like The Gentlemen Season 2, all locked in long before Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive came calling.
So if you assumed GTA 6 flooded Netflix with new content, the data says otherwise. It did not, and it was never going to.
