By Ray Ampoloquio · Sep 17, 2026 Updated by Matt Gibbs · Sep 18, 2026 Rockstar has given no explanation for pressing a full vinyl soundtrack while GTA 6 boxed copies ship with only a download code and no disc.

Rockstar Games will do just about anything except sell you Grand Theft Auto VI on a physical disc. Case in point, it just announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album , a 34-track original soundtrack launching alongside the game on November 19 . Unlike its video game counterpart, the game's music is getting the full physical treatment, from CDs to standard vinyl to a $124.98 limited edition pressed on records filled with blue liquid.

Made in partnership with Atlantic Records, the album collects original tracks from the same stacked lineup that teased it all week , including Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, PinkPantheress, Keith Richards and more. Six songs are streaming now, with the full 34-track list still to come. It is a music release in its own right and available to pre-save and pre-order already.

The three physical editions of the soundtrack, all shipping from November 20.

The contrast with the game itself is hard to miss.

GTA 6 will not get a true physical release. Its boxed "physical" copies are a case with a download code inside without a disc and will probably never get one regardless of the outrage and petitions. Fans have spent months asking for a proper collector's edition , the kind with a statue or an art book, you know, like what it used to do with Grand Theft Auto V and Rockstar has given no indication of budging .
