By Ray Ampoloquio · Aug 27, 2026 GTA BOOM predicts the Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look will show real gameplay before and/or during the August 27 Netflix premiere.

Zoom image: These are our predictions for the GTA 6 Extended Look. We'll grade every call after the August 27 reveal. In under a day, Rockstar Games finally shows its hand. Grand Theft Auto VI gets its first proper showcase on Netflix on August 27 . Before the studio reveals anything, we are putting our money where our mouth is.

Gameplay or not, how much of the map we see, any whisper of GTA 6 Online, and how much Rockstar shows versus holds back, every call below is specific and can only go one way or another. We'll grade ourselves once the reveal ends, so if you want, you can put your own calls before the show starts and let's compare notes.

They are the leads, and the Grand Theft Auto VI cover shoot just centered them

Here is the full board. Each one is gradeable with a plain yes or no once the credits roll.

Let's start with the one prediction every Grand Theft Auto fan will start with: will the Extended Look actually show gameplay? Our call is yes, with high confidence. Everything about the setup points to seeing more of Leonida and Vice City in actual, full-on action.

Rockstar branded this an "extended look" rather than a trailer, and Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has talked it up as more of a show than a teaser even though he also referred it as an appetizer . Just a reminder that the Netflix premiere is a standalone event with a six-hour exclusivity window. It would be a shame to go to so much lengths for just another 90-second cut.

After two cinematic trailers and years of near-silence , footage from someone who is actually playing the game is the next step and it lines up with the hands-off preview that select creators were reportedly given at Rockstar North .

Speaking of, we expect a generous tour of the Miami-inspired fictional setting and the wider region. We're betting against an official square-mileage figure though. Rockstar tends to save these types of details for much later.

On whatever comes next after Grand Theft Auto Online , keep expectations low, since word is the studio wants to focus on the main game for now. Runtime is a genuine question mark. Using the word "extended" is certainly a choice, but it's hard to put a number on the specific length.

We're mildly confident that it will last more than 15 minutes. Anything more just feels like so we are only mildly confident on the 15-to-30-minute range.

The biggest structural call is the last big one. Expect Rockstar to hold back more than it shows . No studio guards its surprises harder, and with a November 19 launch to protect, holding back is the entire play.

Now it is your turn. On the Bookie , our prediction market for the reveal is live, so you can place your own calls on gameplay, the map, GTA 6 Online , and the rest before Thursday.
