Rockstar Games is known for prioritising console platforms for its games, with PC versions following many months if not years later. Well, if a new report is accurate, GTA 6 might not take very long at all to break that rule.

According to GamesBeat , the hotly anticipated open world game is coming to PC in the first quarter of 2027 — just a few months following its launch on PS5.

GTA 6 is scheduled to arrive on 19th November, 2026 for console platforms, and the report, which is based on the word of "four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans", says it'll be available on PC within the first three months of 2027.

As mentioned, if true, this would be a much shorter turnaround than was the case for GTA 5 . After the initial launch for consoles in September 2013, the PC version followed in April 2015, a year and seven months later.

Similarly, PC players had to wait approximately an extra year for Red Dead Redemption 2 to arrive.

It's difficult to know how likely it is that this information is accurate. Rockstar typically takes longer to port its games to PC, but it's also very possible it is better prepared for GTA 6 and will have the game ready in less time than usual.

Even if it's only a few months later, I do wonder whether most people would rather pick it up for PS5 than wait for the PC version. Some will no doubt double-dip, too.

The other thing to consider is GTA Online; so far, Rockstar has said next to nothing about the new iteration of the game's online component. This is purely speculative, but I wonder if GTA 6 will arrive on PC at or around the same time that Online launches.
