As you would expect, publisher Take-Two is clearly not best pleased about the recent leaks of GTA 6 .

In its quest to bring the offending party to justice, the company has subpoenaed both Microsoft and Discord, requesting their participation in a legal crackdown on the person (or people) behind the Cyberleek moniker.

Take-Two wants records from both companies, surfacing information related to accounts that have been spreading the GTA 6 leaks, aiding the publisher in finding the people responsible.

A deadline of 4th September has been issued to Microsoft and Discord.

Microsoft has been tasked with supplying "all internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the ‘cyberleek’ persona sufficient to identify the user(s), person(s) and/or entity/ies associated with that persona."

From Discord, Take-Two is asking for "all user accounts that are/were members communicating with" a number of Discord servers associated with the leaks.

Someone calling themselves Cyberleek has been producing and spreading a number of gameplay videos from GTA 6, which have of course been doing the rounds online.

The clips show previously unseen footage of the game in action, including driving various vehicles, causing chaos with CPU characters, and writing 'LEEK' on a wall with gunshots, seemingly proving the offending party has unfettered access to the game.

Cyberleek has said it's been leaking the game to send a message about consumer rights, digital pre-orders, and so on, but it's also been profiting from the situation, using the leaks to push a cryptocurrency.

Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two have yet to make any official public statements on the matter, but the clips and screenshots are being taken down rapidly and, from this news, it's clear the company is aiming to track down the leaker.

All this comes just days before GTA 6 is set to debut an extended look at the game, first available on Netflix and then later elsewhere.
