By Ray Ampoloquio · Sep 30, 2026 Updated by Matt Gibbs · Sep 30, 2026 Rockstar left Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld and the Space Coast out of Grand Theft Auto VI 's Leonida to prioritize a curated Florida experience.

Zoom image: GTA 6's Leonida leaves out Orlando's theme parks and the Space Coast, Rockstar confirmed. Leonida is Rockstar Games ' take on all of Florida, not just Miami. The result is Grand Theft Auto VI featuring the biggest map in the series.

Even so, a few of the state's most famous places are missing from it, a deliberate omission based on what Rockstar wants players to feel and experience in-game.

In the Game Informer cover story , Rockstar confirmed that central Florida's theme parks and the Space Coast, among other places, are not going to be in Vice City or anywhere else within the state.

Orlando and its theme-park cluster, the real-world Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld, are out as well. So is the eastern Space Coast, home to Cape Canaveral's Space Force Station and NASA's Kennedy Space Center. None of Leonida's six regions covers either area. Asked directly about them, Rockstar's Paul MacPherson did not dance around it, saying:

While we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience.

These are bold words considering that the many places we mentioned are synonymous with the so-called Sunshine State but we also know better by now than to not give Rockstar the benefit of the doubt.

Rockstar built a version of Florida, not a copy of the whole state.

What's more interesting is the answer. MacPherson framed it as curation, the team constantly weighing which landscapes, towns and landmarks serve the game, building to capture the feel of Florida rather than a one-to-one replica. To achieve this, a map Rockstar calls its densest ever has had to leave out certain places.
